Biography
Melodie Martinez is from Mechanicsburg, PA, about 15 minutes west of Harrisburg, PA. Since she was young, Melodie has had a keen interest in severe weather and storm chasing, which has been a dream of hers to pursue since the age of three. She was intrigued by severe weather events and has wanted to learn how to accurately forecast them while preventing lives from being lost. She is ecstatic to be a part of a team that looks to further severe weather warning lead times and improve upon severe weather forecasts, in an effort to save lives from disaster. On top of her love for meteorology, Melodie has a passion for astronomy and has become a member of the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg. Melodie was also part of the Millersville University Choir and has been singing for 16 years. In her free time, she enjoys singing, dancing, reading, spending time with friends and family, playing volleyball, and watching movies.
