Biography

Nelson Tucker is a sophomore meteorology major who is intending to pursue minors in Journalism and Emergency Management. His ultimate goal is forwarding the protection of life and property by unraveling the mysteries of these devastating forces. While Nelson has had a fascination with weather since young childhood, he has developed a particular interest in wind-based phenomena. Over time this interest has grown greatly, and he spends all of his free time immersing himself in the science and history of volatile weather. This led Nelson in 2020 to join Tornado Talk LLC, where he is a main writer and researcher. He has also personally conducted aerial flyover and ground based surveys of a number of tornado damage paths. Nelson lives in Vienna, VA, and has primary interests in fencing, researching, writing, mapping and damage analysis, and photography.
